Major fire in Mhow Bazar

Last night witnessed a major fire outbreak in the central Bazar (Main Street) of Mhow. It was in a toy shop adjacent to Vinaykam cloth store, and very near to the place where the old Banyan Tree used to be. The fire started at about 1 AM in night and it took almost an eternity for the first fire vehicle to come to the spot and finally at about 2:30 AM it reached to the spot and started working. The exact reason is still unknown (to me at-least) and the good news is that there has been no casuality from this fire.

The whole stock of toys was burnt and the fire continued till about 5 AM. And it took about 5-6 tanker water to win over. I was shocked to see the emergency service status though. It took about 30-40 minutes for the fire vehicle to arrive on the spot after being called even though the fire station is just about a km or 2 away from the spot. Also, while the first vehicle was used by the fire-mans to take control of the situation, no other backup fire vehicle came to spot. And by the time the first vehicle's water was all used up, the fire in the shop had subsided considerably. However this fire-vehicle had to return to get water tank refilled and while this vehicle was gone, fire had marred all  the work done.

I could not understand why the other fire vehicles had not come by 4 AM when we have fire vehicles in Army, Pithampur and Indore. They reached to the spot a good 15-30 minutes after the 1st vehicle had come back after refilling its water tank however by that time a lot of property (almost the whole house) was burnt  which could have been saved.

Still thinking how and when we'll have better emergency services???
